Race for Life - Done and Dusted

Just to let you know we raced for our lives - well no actually we walked for the Race for Life which was a 5 km race around Norfolk Show Ground with 4,992 others. This was one of 4 races this weekend with approximately 5,000 in each race at the Show Ground. When everyone has coughed up together we will have raised well over £1,000 for cancer research which is a great success! Thanks to all of you that sponsored us. Our supporters were out cheering us on. Although we did walk for most of the race we did jog when we saw photographers and/or family and friends. Afterwards we had a well earned picnic with the supporters and men folk who were not able to take part in the race as they were not women!! Not sure why men cannot participate. Anyway the atmostphere was really good and it was interesting reading on people's backs why they were doing the race - usually a family member or friend. We are all looking to do it again next year but with a theme of wings and strippy tights!! Well done also to all those friends who took part in the 5.30 pm race that day Teresa, Jodi, Alison and Sarah and to Sue and Sue who did the race on the Sunday and good luck to my sister and niece who are doing it next month in Worthing!! Thanks again to all who sponsored us!!

Pat, Mariyana and Milen's Visit to England

Pat emigrated to Bulgaria and has brought Mariyana his wife and Milen over to England for a holiday. Henry and Milen are getting on well together the language barrier is no problem for either of them. Milen is also picking up English words very quickly and Mariyana is also having a good time looking around the clothes shops!! Mariyana is going to try out a good chinese curry tonight after we have taken the boys to the swings!! Pat is very relaxed and happy and they are due to return to Bulgaria on Sunday by Jeep through France, Belguim, Holland, Germany, Austria, Hungaria, Romania and then back home to Bulgaria!! Bon Voyage!!

Visit from Boj, Becky and Johnny - Ian and Henry's Party too!

Angie and Ian invited all to their house in Thetford Forest next to Centre Parcs to catch up with Boj, Becky and Johnny who were on a whirlwind UK tour visiting family and friends and also to celebrate Ian and Henry's birthday's 44 and 4 respectively.

Children watched Happy Feet, ate and then played with water pistols regretably supplied by Angie and had a great time whilst the adults caught up with interesting conversation.

Then we all went for a short night walk in the forest with torches and glow sticks made into
bracelets and necklaces. All had a good time - I
had more energy than I expected. Then back to the Spinneys for tea and Quality Street!! Thank you for your hospitality Angie and Ian and Lovely to see you Boj, Becky and Johnny!!

Not such a good one of me but I have had a good day today. It is the day I have been looking forward to since October - starting to feel better after my chemotherapy. This was my first good day - felt a bit breathless yesterday and feeling tired. But woke up today after a good nights sleep on Lorazapam (addictive but worked) and had a lot more energy and less chemo sweats. So once Henry was in bed we played guess the best cup of tea out of Teresa and Jaime - Teresa won (Steve and I were blindfolded to take the test - it was a bit like a wine club but instead of wine TEA!!)

Night night!!

After nursery Ann, Jane came round with presents for Henry. Teresa and Steve arrived not long after to make tea for us all and celebrate Henry's birthday. Lots of other presents to open from mail that had come in during the day and a chocolate catapillar to make a wish. Henry tries to show Leah on the telephone one of his new toys - doesn't realise she cannot see it.

Laura came over about 10.30 ish and we sat and chatted in the front garden and then went to the Broads in the car and sat and put our feet over the staithe into the water (well not quite). Watched a few boats saunter passed and two girlie geese taking off in flight gabbering away to each other (that's why we decided they were girls!!) Ian popped in at lunch time to help me out with a form or two and enjoy the sunshine.
